The big opening

Wow leaders the moment they walk in the door. A well designed space with great music invites leaders to enter a new world (and mindset).

Opening activities might look like:

  • Mindfulness and Presence: Mosaicli Facilitators (FAC) model vulnerability and guide leaders to notice “how they are doing,” effectively teaching a meditation skill that reduces stress and improves social emotional awareness and wellbeing.

  • Movement: With music playing, leaders get up from their chairs and find another table of people with whom they don’t know.

  • Mission: FAC shares about the session goals and themes

  • Momentum: FAC shares a personal intention and guides leaders to write their own. With intentions clear, FAC guides a "collective clap” that brings the group energetically into the first activity.

The ice-breaker

Foster personal connections and unite leaders on the shared theme of "flourishing" or "thriving."

Opening activities might look like:

  • FAC Rapport Building: FAC shares a personal anecdote. They might say something like, "my work load has been heavy? Can anyone relate? Well, I'm committed to taking care of myself one one thing that helps to feel my best is a power nap after lunch...What's something that has been helping you to flourish?”

  • Low stakes group share: In small groups, participants share their role at work, a role they play outside of work (ie brother, mother, mentor, etc) and something that’s been helping them flourish

  • "Flourish Feast:" The group adds to a Slido, creating a list of at least 20 ways to flourish

  • Flourishing rituals: Leaders make a commitment to something they will do every day for the next week to enhance their personal flourishing

The creative warm up

Evoke creativity, collaboration and a unique reflection on listening, leadership and letting go.

Opening activities might look like:

  • Tile Painting: With examples on-screen, leaders paint their tile to the prompt: "Flourishing feels like."

  • Tile Rotation: While creating, leaders are instructed to stop and pass their tiles to the left. With music playing, the rotation continues until everyone retrieves their original tile, surprised by how it changed!

  • Debrief: Discussion on control, autonomy, leadership styles, collaboration, innovation and letting go.

  • The Practice of Letting Go: Leaders visualize and practice letting go of attachments through a physical gesture.

The power of "seeing"

Bond leaders through a creative, heart-warming, sharing about "seeing" and feeling "seen."

Activity:

  • Personal Reflection: FAC shares personal yet relatable story of feeling "seen" by someone in their life as inspiration for leaders to reflect on an influential figure from their life story.

  • Skill Build: FAC teaches an emotional intelligence skill

  • Pair Share: Leaders share about that person and their impact. Listener reflects back the qualities that stood out.

  • Tile Creation: With examples on screen leaders add textures, colors or symbols that reflect their person's qualities.

  • Debrief: Open group sharing, takeaways, applications.

The power of mindset

Shift the energy with a quick ice-breaker that demonstrates how mindset can mitigate silos.

Activity: "Amazing Mindset—Playing with Chemistry"

  • FAC Improv Play: FAC touches back on their story of feeling seen and invites the entire room to mirror back in sync the words, "you're amazing.”

  • Pair Play: After having fun with this interplay, participants perform the activity in pairs for a couple brief rounds.

  • Debrief: Impact, mindset, research on brain chemistry and how to improve collaboration across teams

Business Consultation

The power of presence

Provide a direct experience of how listening can improve wellbeing, connectedness and leadership effectiveness

Activity: “Magic in the mirror—Listening like a leader”

  • Listening practice: Leaders practice the listening skill of mirroring, repeating back exactly what the sharer has said.

  • FAC Modeling: FAC team models what comes next, providing examples related to individual and team challenges (ie, "I don't flourish when I'm looked over for advancement opportunities."

  • Peer coaching: Leaders practice mirroring with a more vulnerable share by completing the sentence: "I don't flourish when ___________." (alternative frame for flourishing as a leadership team, "In the role of facilitator I fear ________).

  • Debrief topics: Personal reflections, takeaways and applications. The epidemic of loneliness and the impact to our communities and teams. The heart of effective coaching.

  • Tile Creation: Leaders add a final layer to their tile representing what flourishing in community looks like.

The power of diversity

Integrate key learnings and demonstrate what's possible when everyone makes their unique contribution to the bigger picture.

Activity: “The bigger picture—Honoring diversity”

  • Contribution: Every leader adds their tile the the "bigger picture Mosaic

  • Debrief: FAC guides a provocative discussion

  • Integration and application: Leaders make commitments to enhance the resilience and flourishing of their teams.

  • Physical takeaway: Leaders walk away with a framed print of their collective creation. T-shirts, apparel, mugs and other Mosaic branded swag are additional options.
